One of the most common gut infections out there is something called H.Pylori.
It’s a type of bacteria that can infect your stomach. H.Pylori attacks the lining that protects your stomach – it weakens it and causes stomach acid to be less acidic.
Stomach acid is super important because it helps break down food for easier digestion so that it can absorb nutrients more easily. So if you’re not able to absorb your nutrients, then you can be eating as healthy as possible and still not getting the full benefit from your food.
H.Pylori can also cause the stomach to get red, swollen, and generally inflamed and can lead to a number of health problems.
Common Health Issues Associated with H.Pylori
There are many health issues associated with H.Pylori – not all of them are related to the gut. These include:

H.Pylori can also contribute to:
- B12 deficiency
- Diabetes
- Iron deficiency anemia
- Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
- Male infertility
- Ulcers (H.Pylori is the main cause of ulcers)
How do we get it?
H.Pylori is highly contagious and the most common way someone gets it is through the mouth – so kissing, sharing toothbrushes, eating off someone else’s plate, drinking their drink, etc.
Thus, we often see with couples that, if one person has it, the other does as well.
Now, not everyone who has it is symptomatic. A lot of times, the women that I work with will be dealing with many symptoms, while their partner, who also has it, has minimal symptoms.
What to do if you suspect you have it?
Test. Don’t guess.
Through my work with clients over the years, I’ve learned that the best test for detecting it is something called the GI-Map. The reason that it’s so good is that instead of just looking for the organisms in the sample, it is testing for the DNA of it – so it’s looking at a much more microscopic level.
In fact, I’ve had clients who showed up with high amounts of H.Pylori using the GI-Map with me after having their doctor’s test show up completely negative.
Not all tests are created equal…and we all deserve the very best in gut testing, especially if that’s what we’re putting our money toward.

How to Address It
When I work with my clients to eliminate H.Pylori to eliminate their health issues, we do so through natural protocols. There are a few different options based on the clients specific results, desires, and budget. These are all things I take into consideration when I am working with a client.
Doctors will treat with medications – specifically, antibiotics. The problem with this is that antibiotics often are a major contributor to the health problems so many of my clients have. While it might be a short term fix, it’s not supporting the long-term goals of the client.
While the general statistic is that 50% of the population has H.Pylori – in my practice, I see it in close to 70% of my clients.
