The last couple of weeks, we discussed the importance of bile and what to do if your gallbladder is giving you trouble.

If you missed, them, here they are:

But, what if you no longer have a gallbladder?

You’re not alone if you’ve had it removed – approximately 500,000 people have it removed in the US annually.

While it’s not ideal, your body is smart, and with the right tools and proper support, you can help it adapt to continue enjoying life to the fullest.

Unfortunately, once your gallbladder was removed, it’s unlikely your doctor gave you much, if any, post-op support. Most of my clients were told they can live perfectly healthy lives without it and – only sometimes – given a list of foods to avoid.

I talk to so many women years after their gallbladder has been removed who say they regret getting it out because they feel like it caused even more problems.

Which makes sense since they were given no tools to help their body after it was removed.

You need to understand once your gallbladder is removed, your liver will continue to make the bile necessary to break down fat and help you absorb nutrients.

Because there is no gallbladder to act as a storage facility, you will have a constant trickle of bile from your liver directly into your small intestine.

So, you can still benefit from the fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins in your meals to support your body by doing several things, including:

In addition to these 7 above, I also recommend being sure you continue to support healthy bile production that I have in the blog linked above.

Your gallbladder’s health impacts your liver health, so if you’ve had your gallbladder removed, it’s a strong sign that your liver needs support. So be sure to incorporate good liver health practices.

If you’ve had your gallbladder removed and aren’t sure how to best support your body post-surgery – even if it’s been years – let’s talk.

There are other things we can do beyond those listed above – it all depends on your unique test results and what they are telling us.

Remember that the body is a beautiful system that works together & we can’t spot treat one thing, as much as supplement companies like to make us think we can 🙃

Thankfully with proper testing, we can get to the bottom of what’s causing you problems & create a customized protocol to bring your body back into balance.

If you’re tired of feeling the way you do and want to get to the bottom of things – the root cause – let’s chat.

Book a free call with me!

On this call, we’ll get clear on:

  • what health issues you’re currently dealing with
  • what your journey has been to address these issues
  • and your health goals – where you’d ultimately like to end up

I can share with you what I think are the missing links in your journey up until this point and what I recommend to do to address them. If I feel like it’s something I can help with, then I can share what that process would look like in the Root Cause Method 1-1 coaching & lab testing program.

Rooting for you!
